The musicians from South Mountain Bluegrass Church visited Shelby Manor this past Saturday (April 10, 2021) to play music for the residents. It was our first visit in more than a year because of COVID restrictions.

Music filled the air and there were smiles everywhere.

What a blessing!

What a joy to play music and worship with the wonderful people at Shelby Manor. Turns out, we had missed them just as much as they had missed us!

Hogan boys singing “This Little Light Of Mine.”

God and mother nature helped, too.

An awesome turnout of musicians and residents!

Praise the Lord! The forecasted stormy weather held off and the residents were able to enjoy their time outdoors with us and with each other.

South Mountain Bluegrass Church began as an outreach ministry at South Mountain Family Camp in Casar, NC, with the hope of reaching people with the ministry that uses bluegrass gospel as the worship music. Many churches today do not use the old hymns and old-style music.

SMBC began having meetings twice each month and realized God had a different plan and soon put it in our hearts to meet weekly.

We then discovered He had even bigger plans than that and we now have three services each week.

We feel that God has led His little country church to be as the New Testament church of old where we come together as the body of Christ, always knowing that Jesus is the head of His church.

We just follow as He leads –  praying, preaching and singing, and doing the work He has called us to do –  ministering to the saints and winning sinners to Christ.
